President & CEO

Since assuming leadership of SOS in May of 2010, Ryan Hertz and his team have expanded the organization’s scope to encompass emergency shelter, housing, and supportive service solutions that have helped thousands of displaced people get back on their feet and find a renewed sense of purpose. Ryan strives to build meaningful relationships with those eager to help realize his vision for a community where all people will have access to a place they are proud to call home. Ryan also serves as a board member for the Alliance for Housing, Lathrup Village DDA, Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, and Chabad of Greater Downtown Detroit. He loves making music, traveling, and studying Chassidus.

Jenny-PomaJenny Poma, MSW
Director of Program Development

Jenny manages the grants, operations, and outcomes around SOS’s shelter and follow-up care programs while developing new programming. Jenny’s favorite part of working at SOS are her colleagues. Everyone is so positive and fun to be around. We are all committed to our mission and work tirelessly to accomplish great things. Jenny loves spending her spare time in the city and cooking new and interesting foods.

Dan-KellyDan Kelly, MSW
Director of Housing

Dan directs SOS’s housing programs that work to help individuals and families go from homeless to housed. Once housed, his team helps families regain their hope and self-sufficiency. What Dan loves most about working at SOS is serving those in need every day; it is truly a fulfilling role for him. Dan is an avid outdoors person who loves hiking and camping throughout Michigan. His favorite spot to visit is pictured Rocks National Park, which he highly recommends!

Megan-HoltMegan Holt
Director of Development

Megan is responsible for spearheading fundraising activities and development efforts as SOS continues to grow. Her favorite things about working at SOS are her co-workers. Everyone truly cares about the mission and is dedicated to making a positive impact on the community. Megan has a great love for the state of Michigan and the outdoors. When she’s not in the office, there is a decent chance you can find her running, biking, hiking or skiing!

Eric-ZuckerEric Zucker
Director of Operations

Eric manages the SOS office building to create a safe and friendly work environment. Additionally, he is in charge of grant management and works directly with the CPA on SOS’s yearly audit. Eric’s favorite thing about working at SOS is the variety of things he works on. “I wear Carharts to suits depending on what needs to be addressed.” Eric loves playing sports, art and music.
